5 Unique iOS Apps You Should Check Out October 2019

If you’re an iOS user and are looking for some new and unique apps to try out, you might find just what you’re looking for in this list. All of these apps have some very interesting features and best of all they are all free.


The first app on the list is Dualgram. This app will allow you to take photos or videos with both the front and the rear camera at the same time. This is a very useful app for those of you who make vlogs with your iPhone. By default the main viewfinder displays feed from the rear camera and there’s a small window in the top right corner that shows the feed from the front camera.

You can easily switch between the feeds with a single tap and you can also change the shape of the window to fit your liking. The app also gives you the option to zoom in and out and turn on the flashlight if you want to capture photos or videos in the dark. Once you are done capturing you have the option to save a composite photo or video, or you can choose to save each file individually and stitch them together later.


Next up is an app called Shortly. This app recommends short stories that you can read depending on the amount of time you have. When you first set up the app, it will give you a sample short story to measure your reading speed. Once it’s got that out of the way the app will recommend stories based on how long it will take you to read it, so you can choose a story that fits with the amount of time you have.

The app gives you the option to choose either 1 minute, 3 minute or 5 minute short stories that are chosen based on your reading speed and it even gives you the option to set daily reminders to keep up with your reading goals. You can easily favorite any short story you like and it even has options for adjusting the font size and the theme in the app. The only downside is that the themes are locked behind an in-app purchase.


If short stories aren’t your thing and you would much rather read some interesting articles then you should check out Tonic. This app will provide you with a curated list of articles based on your interests.

The app makes use of machine learning to identify the kind of articles you like and then continues to suggest similar articles for you to read. If you like an article you can easily bookmark it so you can read it later or share it with friends and you can even leave feedback for each article you read which will help the app improve its suggestions.


The next app on the list is Boca. This is an awesome app that will allow you to take real time portrait mode videos with your iPhone. If you’ve been keeping up with the latest features on Android devices you probably already know that Samsung recently introduced a similar feature on the Galaxy Note 10. You can now have this same feature by using this app on your iPhone.

The app combines depth and video data to create an artificial depth of field effect for your videos. The best part is that it lets you adjust the background blur both before and after capturing the video. Once you are done capturing you can easily save the video to your camera roll with a single tap.


If you love music apps then you’ll defiantly want to check out Cordia. This app is a new social media platform that is designed to help you connect with people who share the same kind of music interests as you and discover new songs along the way.

During the setup process the app will ask you to choose your favorite music and genres to display on your profile and then recommend people that have a similar taste in music. You can connect with them right on the app and discover new songs through their profile. You can even connect your Spotify account to the app so that it get’s more information on the type of music you like. Doing this will help the app give you more accurate recommendations and help you find more amazing music.
